Refunds of programme fees will only be made in accordance with the following A01 Student Admission and Withdrawal Policy:
By accepting a place in a programme of study at New Zealand Skills and Education College / Seafield School of English, a student enters a contract with NZSE College or Seafield School of
English for the period of one academic year (or the length of the programme if it is less than one year). This contract means there is an obligation to pay the fee for the year (or for the length of
the shorter programme).
Students who wish to defer to the following term/semester must notify NZSE College/Seafield School of English at least two weeks prior to the programme commencement.
Students withdrawing before commencing a NZSE College/Seafield School of English course will be given a full refund of fees less the registration and homestay placement fees.
Students withdrawing up to the end of the second day after the start of a course of less than five (5) weeks duration: an amount equal to the fees paid less a deduction of 50 per cent. However,
if two days constitutes the full amount of tuition paid for by the student, NZSE College or Seafield School of English will retain 100 per cent of the payment. (As per section 235A(1)(c) and (d) of
the Education Act.)
Students withdrawing up to the end of the fifth day of a course of five (5) weeks or more, but less than three (3) months: NZSE College or Seafield School of English must pay an amount equal to
the fees paid less a deduction of 25 per cent. (As per section 235A(1)(c) and (d) of the Education Act.)
International students withdrawing at the end of the tenth working day after the first day on which the student is required to attend the course (courses three months or more (12 weeks)):
Full refund of fees less a deduction for costs incurred by the School, up to a maximum of 25% of the total fee paid. (NZSE College or Seafield School of English will provide details of the cost
components for the purpose of working out the maximum deductible percentage.) (As per section 235A(1)(a) and (b) of the Education Act and as set out in the Education (Refund Requirements
for International Students) Notice 2012.
In normal circumstances, no refunds will be given after the tenth day of the programme/course commencement. If a student decides to withdraw from a programme/course once enrolment has
been finalised the student will need to complete a NZSE College/Seafield School of English Withdrawal Form which can be obtained from any of our Campuses. Any request for such a refund
must be made in writing to Group Academic Director of NZSE College/ Seafield School of English. The request must include a detailed explanation of the reasons for withdrawal from the
programme/course. At this time, the student’s family and Agent may be notified by NZSE College/Seafield School of English that a request for refund has been received.
If a refund is given, it will be paid in NZ dollars and paid by direct credit either to:
• The original payer’s nominated bank account, or
• If the Refund Authorisation Letter is completed by the original payer, to another party’s bank account
Note: If the student is not the original payer, permission in writing from the original payer will need to be sought before the funds can be transferred to the student.
